E' UN SPETTACOLO!

The few days Shawn and I spent in Bologna were incredible...it was almost as if nothing had changed and we fell right back into our old lifestyle. The weather proved challenging, with humidity causing heat rashes as well as Tina Turner hair for me, but we certainly made the best of it. We mostly wandered the city, hitting our favorite restaurants and gelaterias, and exploring a labyrinth of memory lanes.

Here's the gang at our favorite casual Bolognese spot, Osteria Dell'Orsa:

The guy in the front right, Demetrio, was new to the group and a crack up. He'd exclaim "E' UN SPETTACOLO!" whenever it suited him. He's the spectacle, if you ask me. Me and Shawn being adorable and recreating Lilli e il Vagabondo:

Me in my own personal heaven, Gelateria Castiglione, enjoying chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio:

On our last night in Bologna, we did an aperitivo, hung out in Piazza Santo Stefano, and then ended up at a favorite dance spot that's only open in the summer, Viccolo Bolognetti. We got to see everyone we wanted to (except Azzurra, who was still in Barcelona at the time!).

I'm still fascinated by this whole concept of drinking outdoors. Here's our pic commemorating "birra sulla strada!" Of course, it's the second picture we took because in the first, you couldn't see Alessandro's face through my afro. It's still iffy.

We stayed with Gavina while in town, and here's us 3 roommates:

One last group shot:
